Website analytics

When Google Analytics is enabled, I use it to understand which projects people view, how they find my site, and how well it works on different devices. I limit measurement to basic website usage. I do not use it to build advertising audiences or target ads.

Analytics information may include pages visited, referring websites, clicks and other interactions, visit times and engagement, browser and device type, language, approximate location, and cookie or similar device identifiers. These identifiers can distinguish visits without providing your name. Google Analytics 4 uses IP addresses to derive location information but does not log or store them.

I do not send your name, email address, or the contents of your messages to Google Analytics.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics may use first-party cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. Where applicable law requires it, I request your consent before using non-essential analytics cookies.

When you unlock private projects, I use a necessary session cookie to remember your access. It contains a signed access token, not the password, and is not used for advertising. Access expires after 12 hours or when you select “Lock private projects.” The cookie is set for the browser session; browsers that restore sessions may retain it until access expires.

I also use your browser’s local storage to save your light or dark appearance preference. This preference stays in your browser. You can remove it by clearing my site’s stored data.

Google and other websites

Google receives and processes analytics information to provide its measurement service. Processing may take place outside your country. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

I do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Links to YouTube, LinkedIn, and other external websites take you to services governed by their own privacy policies.

If you contact me

The contact links on my site open your email application. If you send an email, I receive your email address and the information you choose to include, and use them to respond and manage our conversation. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your inquiry.

Keeping information

I keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including responding to inquiries and meeting applicable legal obligations. I retain analytics information according to the Google Analytics retention settings. I may keep aggregated reports longer. Browser storage remains until it expires or you clear it.

Your choices and rights

You can manage or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking cookies alone may not prevent every form of analytics measurement. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, restrict or object to its use, or withdraw consent. To make a request, email me at anthonymellone123a@gmail.com. I may need enough information to verify and locate the records concerned. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
